MUMBAI: Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to bring another period drama, but this time, the ace filmmaker hasn’t roped his favourite Ranveer Singh. However, his wife Deepika Padukone will be the leading lady. As per media reports, Sanjay will bring the two Khans together for this film. Yes. If this news is true, then viewers will get to see Salman and Shah Rukh together on the big screen.
As per a leading journalist, Sanjay is yet to make an official announcement about the same, but both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have committed to the director in principle. SLB has worked with both the actors separately and delivered massive hits at the box office. In fact, some of Salman's best work has been with SLB, including the critically acclaimed Khamoshi and the more commercially successful Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. In September, Salman confirmed that he had heard the script in a line and was indeed collaborating with the filmmaker again after 11 years.
The duo even had a public fallout when Sanjay’s film Guzaarish with Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan released. However, that is a thing of the past.
Shah Rukh Khan and SLB had worked together in Devdas, and there were reports doing the rounds that the latter wanted SRK to work in Sahir Ludhianvi’s biopic alongside Priyanka Chopra. However, neither Shah Rukh nor Sanjay confirmed these rumors.
It seems that Shah Rukh Khan is keen on collaborating with SLB and Karan Johar, with whom he has had successful track records. Therefore, it would be no surprise if the two Khans have given their nod for this movie.
Meanwhile, Deepika has not signed any film apart from Meghna Gulzar's movie on acid attack victim Lakshmi. SLB is extremely fond of Deepika after she had stepped into Kareena’s shoes for Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela. Kareena may never get to work with Sanjay in the near future because he cannot forget how she quit his film to get married to Saif Ali Khan.
SLB is currently writing the characters and working on his period drama, and we hear that it will take at least a few more months. Deepika, Salman, and SRK have enough time to finish their pending projects and dedicate their time to Sanjay’s next magnum opus, which is rumored to be titled Inshallah.
Deepika in the past has worked with Shah Rukh, but this would be the first time she will be working with Salman.
