MUMBAI: Arushi Nishank, daughter of Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, will make her debut in Bollywood with 'Tarini'. A poster of the film was also released on the occasion of Women's Day. Here's everything you need to know about the actress.

1. Who is Arushi Nishank?
Arushi Nishank is an Indian classical dancer and environmentalist. She is the eldest daughter of Kusum Kanta Pokhriyal and Ramesh Pokhriyal, India's Union Cabinet Minister for Education (formerly Ministry of Human Resources Development) and the former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. 

2. Husband and Early Life
She has been married to Abhinav Pant since January 24, 2015. Arushi is also the chairperson of Himalayan Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital in Dehradun.

3. Disciple of Birju Maharaj
Arushi is a disciple of Birju Maharaj. She has also received the Pride Of Uttarakhand Award in 2017. In 2018, Arushi produced a regional film, Major Nirala, based on a novel written by her father Ramesh Pokhriyal.

4. Social Causes
Arushi Nishank is a promoter of the Sparsh Ganga Campaign, started in 2009 by her father Ramesh Pokhriyal to promote environmental awareness about the Ganga River. In 2019, Arushi had chaired the International Women Empowerment Program in New Delhi and 2018 in Dubai.

In 2017, Officer Vartika Joshi, Pratibha Jamwal, P. Swati, S. Vijaya, Aishwarya, and Payal Gupta started their journey from Goa on the Indian Navy's Sailing Boat INS Tarini. The team of women went around the globe, travelling almost 21,600 nautical miles. Tarini is based on these six female naval officers.
