Impossible to compare me with Tom Cruise - Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan and Tom Cruise
With Bang Bang being touted as the official remake of Tom Cruise starrer Knight and Day, it is only natural to think comparisons would be drawn between Tom Cruise and Hrithik Roshan who is reprising the former's character in the Hindi remake. And given his Greek God looks and penchant for high octane stunts, no one in Bollywood could have perhaps pulled off Tom Cruise's role better than Hrithik. But our Bollywood superstar is averse to any comparisons that would be drawn with the Hollywood actor. "It is impossible to compare," says Hrithik and adds, "I believe in individuality. Tom Cruise will interpret the lines and scenes of the movie based on his own life experiences. I have interpreted it based on my life experiences and instincts." Explaining how the movie is not a scene by scene copy, Hrithik says, "If in a particular scene Tom Cruise is smiling and I am not, it would have been easier for me to think why am I not smiling because after all he is Tom Cruise. But that is not how I will interpret those lines. I will have to bring my own individuality out. So I do everything in my own way. And when you see the film as a whole, the character comes out as a real person. One shouldn't get confused with what Tom Cruise did and with what I have done in Bang Bang." For Hrithik, this is the second time when he will be a part of a remake, the first one being Agneepath. Pointing out on how he acted in Agneepath despite Amitabh Bachchan having immortalised the original one, Hrithik says, "Mr. Bachchan interpreted Agneepath in his own way. It was very easy for anyone to go wrong. I interpreted Agneepath in my own way. So if you stay true to your instincts, is honest and fearless then nothing can go wrong with your interpretation. Every actor has his own individuality." Bang Bang is set to release across India on 2 October.
