MUMBAI: Rhea and her brother Showik were arrested a while ago under the NDPS act for consuming and procuring drugs. 

Her name emerged during the investigation of the SSR death probe when the ED found chats between the actress and a few drug peddlers.

Yesterday Rhea’s bail plea was heard at the High Court where her lawyer tried to slander SSR and said that he was consuming drugs.

However, the NCB was opposing the bail as they felt that if Rhea will roam free, then she will tamper with evidence and influence the witnesses.

As per SpotboyE, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Anil Singh, who is appearing for the NCB, made his submission during the bail hearings of Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Dipesh Sawant, Samuel Miranda, and an alleged drug peddler.

The report stated that ASG Anil Singh appearing for the agency told the Bombay High Court that the case in which Rhea, her brother Showik, and the other three that have been arrested has only a small connection with the actor’s death.

Although the condition is small, it’s a huge development in the case. Since the drug cartel business was busted, netizens did feel that there could be a connection with the SSR case.

The court has reserved her bail plea, and Rhea continues to be in jail. The investigation is on, and in the next few weeks, the NCB will be summoning more actors from the world of Bollywood.
