Salman remains tight-lipped when quizzed about Modi and upcoming Lok Sabha elections

Salman Khan
While Salman Khan openly supported Narendra Modi during the promotional parade of Jai Ho, it looks like he has since then beat a hasty retreat from Modi and politics. At the press conference of a sport based film called Khwaab, when Salman was asked a specific question on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the actor first chose to ignore them with a smile on his face and later in his own brazen style, proceeded to take a dig at the scribe who had asked the question. Here is what followed- Salman, the entire country is rooting for a good government and a good PM? What hopes do you have from the upcoming election? (On hearing the question, Salman stayed mum and looked the other way while the host intervened and dissuaded the journalist from asking any political question but the journalist persisted.) Salman, as an Indian citizen, please tell us what hopes do you nurse. Who do you think will make for good PM? Modi or anyone else? While the host intervened again, Salman this time responded. ‘An entertainment journalist is asking political questions hoping to get a little something out of me. Their channel is not doing well. So if they get something, a quote or something from me, they can promote it on their channel.’ The spunky journalist’s response was dunked in the surrounding din created by an unusually vociferous host who fiercely disallowed any more political question. Well, Salman if you think media personnel take political quotes of actors for promoting their channel, we wonder what your kite-flying activity with Narendra Modi could be termed as? Promotional gimmick for Jai Ho or true support for India’s prime ministerial aspirant? And these days when actors are turning politicians, it is very much in order to ask a question or two on politics especially to Salman who has supported Modi in the past.
