MUMBAI : The much-awaited third installment of the cherished Welcome series, Welcome to the Jungle is set to delight and amuse its viewers. Sanjay Dutt has reportedly withdrawn from the movie since his dates conflicted with the scheduling.

The popular news portal quoted a source as saying, “Sanjay Dutt has cited date issues for his exit. He has conveyed all the issues to his dear friend Akshay, who took the points into account and holds no bad blood. Sanjay Dutt felt that the Welcome To The Jungle shoot was happening in an unplanned way, with too many changes in the script, disturbing his diary of the shoot, and hence has parted ways.”

The report claims that Sanjay has already spent 15 days filming, and the producers are unsure if they should reshoot his sequences or incorporate his disappearance into the story.

“Sanjay Dutt has shot for some funny portions of Welcome To The Jungle in the first schedule and the makers are tempted to resume it and credit Sanjay Dutt for a guest appearance,” the source further added. However, there is no confirmation on the same from Sanjay or Welcome 3’s team yet.

With Sanjay out of the picture, the cast now includes Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, and Sayaji Shinde, with the recent additions of Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani.

When the first glimpse of the film was unveiled last year, it generated quite a buzz due to its stellar star cast and distinction from the two previous films. Shreyas Talpade, who will feature in the film in a prominent role, opened up about its plot during a chat with the popular news portal.

He told us, “It’s a pretty interesting and funny story about these guys all coming together and pulling off a kind of stunt. The brief was very clear, let’s have some madness on set and let’s make sure we entertain people. I’m looking forward to the next big schedule we’ll have in March. There are some crazy scenes with me and Tusshar together. That was one of the USPs, not only me and Tusshar but also Arshad and Sanju sir are coming together.”

'Welcome to the Jungle,' is directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwallah and is presented by Base Industries Group. The movie is scheduled to have a major theatre debut on December 20, 2024, during the week before Christmas.
