When I came up with the song 'Brown Rang, I decided to add 'Yo Yo' before my name: Yo Yo Honey Singh

MUMBAI: Celebrating Helo's second anniversary, Yo Yo Honey Singh recently went live on the platform and got candid with his fans. On being asked how did he decide to be 'Yo Yo Honey Singh' and not just 'Honey Singh', “I never decided my career to begin with. I started rapping for a few Punjabi songs at the start of my career, that time my name was printed as Honey Singh only. It was when I came up with the song 'Brown Rang, I decided to add 'Yo Yo' before my name”. 

Spending his lockdown time in creating more music, the Lungi-dance rapper said,” I feel in this current scenario, away from the hustle and bustle of life, we have become more creative. Main acha time spend kar raha hun apne studios mein and so is my team in their respective studios. I'm working on a lot of songs in this lockdown period and will release it soon. I'm also thinking of releasing an album this summer. Kaafi gaane ban gaye hai. Now after Desi Kalakaar, its time for another album.” 

When asked about his most popular song 'Dheere Dheere Se', Yo Yo said, ”Its been 5 years since the song "Dheere Dheere Se" was released, I had composed the song in the worst phase of my health. I had recorded the entire song on my phone. I was awarded with a GIMA award for this."  The rapper has always credited his fans to be his biggest source of motivation. “Whenever I release my new song, the love that I get from them makes me want to work harder”, he said.

The High-Heels rapper is planning a lot of collaborations in line with the Punjabi singers,  "In terms of Bollywood, I will be featured in a song, "I'm in love with you" from an upcoming movie, its going to be a khatarnaak film. The shoot of the song has been delayed due to the lockdown, but we will hopefully resume soon”. YoYo also stated that he has a project lined up with his all-time favorite rapper Apachi Indian and said the song is a "dream come true" for him. 

Celebrating its second year anniversary, Helo, India's leading regional social media platform, recently hosted a star-studded digital anniversary bash #HeloStarLiveParty. Famous Bollywood divas including Ananya Panday, Shruti Hassan, Tara Sutaria, Bhumi Pednekar, Tamannaah,and regional superstars including Sonalee Kulkarni, Mimi Chakraborty,Sonia Mann, Anu Sithara, Shriya Saran amongst others went LIVE to join in the celebrations and wished Helo on its successful journey of turning two.
