MUMBAI: South Indian superstar Kamal Haasan's upcoming film Indian 2 is one of the most awaited movies that fans are eagerly waiting for. Kamal Haasan and director Shankar’s film Indian 2 was announced to hit the theaters in June 2024.

But, it seems as if the makers have changed their minds. As per reports, Indian 2 makers are all set to release the film in July. Well, you read that right! As per a report in Pinkvilla, the film will be released in July. The film which is under production has been creating waves on social media.

The film Indian 2 directed by Shankar has been reportedly in work since January 2019. The production of the film was halted due to some accidents on the sets of the film and due to COVID-19 pandemic. The film Indian 2 has suffered quite some delays. The makers of Indian 2 started the shoot again in 2022.

Indian 2 star Kamal Haasan in a lead role. This film serves as a sequel to the 1996 film Indian. In the first installment, the actor was in the role of Senapathy, an aging freedom fighter who was seen fighting against corruption in society. Well, the film ended with Senapathy running away from India and going to Hong Kong as he threatened to come back.

Indian 2 also features Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Vivek and more in main roles. The music of the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman and R Rathnavelu. On the work front, Kamal was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial Vikram that starred Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles.
