Hindi Medium writer Amitosh nagpal enters the crore club!

MUMBAI: With an uprising demand for content, the country is trying to create measures and ways to fulfil this demand. It's a need of the hour to pay respect to a writer to churn out real stories that people can relate to.

Typical Bollywood formulas of stories with unnecessary action, unwanted item songs, and a larger-than-life villain are slowly making way for fresh, relatable, and slice-of-life stories. Audiences today are appreciating sensible cinema and celebrating individuals, especially writers, who are the most important pillar of storytelling. The silver lining here is that writers are not just receiving their due recognition but also a decent pay for their contribution.

Our sources revealed that recently, a reputed studio signed up Hindi Medium writer Amitosh Nagpal for 1 crore rupees for their next project.

Amitosh’s last work Hindi Medium brought him accolades and ensured good projects too.

The critics gave a special mention to the dialogues, giving the dialogue category a 4-point rating out of 5, which stands out from the rest of the film.

From past few years, there has been an interesting shift in the stories being told. Many small budget films have worked commercially and stood out as underdogs. Storytellers from small cities/towns have gathered the courage to narrate the stories of their roots and give them life on screen. Amitosh’s writing in films and plays has always had a flavour of his upbringing, which was in a small town in Haryana. He not only manages to capture the nuances and characters aesthetically but also brings out the humor that is fresh and new for the audience. One cannot help being transported into his world. To define this thought, here is a dialogue from his film Hindi Medium where Irrfan says, ‘Banda daikh ke dhanda kiya kar chotu… Variety dikhane ke badlay society samajhna zaroori hai.’

Amitosh is currently working on few other projects like Aadhaar, produced by Drisham Films and directed by Suman Ghosh, Kaashvi Nair’s film produced by Nikhil Advani, Amol Gupte's directorial Saina, and an untitled film for Viacom Motion Pictures. Other than films, he is involved in web series for known platforms.
