Trilogy Media, helmed by Ila Bedi Dutta is back with its upcoming daily show Lajwanti on Zee TV.

The gracious lady announced about the project on her late grandfather and famous writer Ravinder Singh Bedi’s 100^th birth anniversary.

Present at the event, Ila looked quite confident and excited about her show’s announcement.

Talking about the project, Ila shared, “I am happy that today on my grandfather’s 100^th birth anniversary, the show has been declared. I was working on the project since the last 15 years. I first wished to pen this story in a movie but things didn’t work out. I feel proud that such a beautiful story will now be telecasted as a daily.”

How difficult it was for you to work on this project? “It was very difficult as there is lot of details involved in the story. It is a tale that I have researched for years now. I referred a lot of film based on India’s partition. But we won’t take viewers back to that pain of partition but showcase a beautiful love story of Lajwanti and Sundarlal.”

Did you face a hard time to choose your leads for the show? “I had an image of Suderlal in my head. When Sid (Makker) came for auditions he deliberately gave a bad audition as he wasn’t interested to do a TV show. Then I convinced the channel to take his second audition. He fitted to every requirement of Suderlal that I had in my head. Talking about Ankita (Sharma), she was amazing in her auditions. She lights up the screen completely. The way she emotes on screen, she can make anyone cry.”

When we quizzed Ila on five reasons why audiences should look forward to this show? “Chemistry, sass, a hero who is a typical angry man and the way the girl tames him, a very different storyline, lot of authenticity in dialect and the backdrop of partition. I am sure all these things will definitely make viewers watch the show.”
