Be it Dhaka, Baghdad or Serbia or Istanbul, the terror attack has not only broken many families, it has shaken the trust and believe of a happy world for all.

The recent actions have mankind in a state of shock and has made us cringe on the thought that fellow humans are killing each other.

Stating that terrorism is a vicious sin, TV celebs promote peace and endorse the idea of education and building relationships.

And as Martin Luther King Jr stated, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

Terrorism is the most unfortunate and terrible thing happening around the world. I think the reason for this is the improper knowledge of religion, lack of education and the hatred that is put in the hearts of millions by just a handful of idiots. To curb this down, one really needs to know that no religion has ever advocated and supported violence against the weak or innocent. We need to educate people and also create awareness that hatred leads to hatred and love leads to love. Had there been only hatred, then none of us would have seen the light of the day. Why should we take this right away from our next generation by hating each other now?

This is a question that has hounded me for years now. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer even today. We all live in fear for our loved ones due to these terrorists who claim to be gods’ messengers. They kill the innocent, just so their demands can be met. The only way to stop this is to punish the ones who have done these dastardly acts and to ensure that the youth don't fall in to wrong hands. Corruption is also one of the major reasons why terrorism is gaining ground.

I think we are paying for the hatred instilled into jihadis by their parents and teachers. The world needs to understand that we will kill each other in the next 30-40 years, at this speed. Killing a girl who couldn't recite Quran is simply non-Islamic. I have many Muslim friends and they all feel sorry for what has happened. They also feel embarrassed by the actions of these idiots. I pity them as they are creating such a bad name for their religion. Governments should join hands and these good for nothing politicians should try to do something about this menace in the society.

We tend to take pride in separating ourselves and creating identities! Earlier, when you met a stranger and realised that on an average you are connected with this person with just six degrees of separation, but today we live infinite degrees of separation. The surge of terrorism comes from the opposite of love… fear! Besides, human beings are not taught from an early age that many of the things we believe are individual subjective truths and very few objective truths. And most of the time, individual truth is relative. It may not be the reality or the truth for another.

I strongly believe that people are hiding behind the veil of religion in order to fulfil their vested interests. We need to stop making rifts by taking religion as a medium. Also, we should try to understand that though religions are different, their message of peace and unity is the same. This way there would be no humanity left. Parents need to stop differentiating between religions and regions. Same goes for teachers as well. Education should be the prime objective and we should start it from home.

Terrorism is a plague, which is spreading in the world at a rapid rate and India is no exception to that. Youth of India need to understand that killing people cannot be justified for any reason. We all are here in this planet to survive together and it's not going to change ever. There a no easy way or any shortcut or magic formula to curb terrorism. It's a long process of educating people. The mind-set doesn't change overnight. There should be debates in every educational institution against such activities.

Unfortunately, misguided youth and radical beliefs have created a parallel society in what used to be a peace-loving nation. India is no more a safe haven but this is true for the entire world. In my opinion, it is the lack of guidance, opportunities of making a comfortable livelihood coupled with some serious brain-washing by the so called 'jehadis' which is giving rise to domestic home grown terror groups. Sadly, they have NO goal ann sadder still, they don't realise it. My only message is to be more inclusive and try and make the country an even playing field for everyone and a little extra help for those who aren't as lucky as others. The moment you marginalise a group you are giving rise to a parallel 'sect' who will then raise arms n fight for what 'they' perceive is their liberation.

Terrorism has only grown over the years and has become the most potent threat internationally. India, for many years now, has been a victim of cross-border terrorism. International terrorism breathes on drug trafficking, religious extremism, illicit trade of arms, weapons, export of materials and men and the states and governments which protect and encourage terrorism. Plural and open democracies like India are the main target of terrorism claiming thousands of innocent lives in the name of religion or animosity. I believe that to curb this problem, strong and united global action must be taken by likeminded countries against the states and governments that provide refuge to terrorism. I also believe in Abraham Lincoln’s message- “The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend.”

Anyone whose home has been taken awa, has been deprived of their rights is bound to get angry. Be it Bangladesh, Kashmir, Syria or anywhere in the place, the problem is the same. The anger of such deprived people is not channelized in the right way by authorities. Rather it is used for their political games. I think the only way to deal with it is with heart and not mind. Do not exploit emotions, use it to help build a happy world. The process needs to change and rather as anger cannot be dealt with anger. I think our generation that is so connected and educated can help change the attitudes of other. We can bring about the change, we just need to take the first step.
