#WorldMusicDay: Music means life for TV actors

TV actors talks on World Music Day.
World Music Day

Imagine a world without music. It will be mundane and inert.

Like the wise man says, the language of music is universal. It has the power to unite people, transcending over borders and cultural barriers.

This World Music Day (21st June), our favourite television actors tell us the importance of music in their lives and the genres that they enjoy the most.

Keith Sequeira: Music is definitely an important part of my life. Music to me is relaxation if I say in one word. It is a way of intoxification and sometimes it's emotional too. I like to hear country music mostly, as it is a great stress buster.

Parul Chauhan: Music is very important for me. When I am low or when I am missing my family and friends or anything, I make my mood happy with music. Whatever activity I do be it cooking or gymming, I do it listening to music. I have a very big music system at my house as well as one in my make-up room on the sets. Whenever people hear the music, they get to know that Parul Chauhan has arrived on the sets. I am constantly listening to music while doing make-up or rehearsing my lines. I love Arijit Singh and I think he is the best. My favourite song is Tum Hi Ho and I can listen to the song all the time.

Shakti Arora: I love music. It's a mood booster for me. Whenever I want some energy I listen to music. When I am sad, I cheer myself with music. I hear music every day. I have small speakers and headphones and this is the best way for me to rejuvenate myself between shots. Sometimes I also listen to chants when I am super angry. "Shape of you" is my current favourite song.

Shweta Basu Prasad: Music is extremely important in my life. I listen to music every day. I have also made a documentary on Indian Classical Music. It's on the dying visibility of classical music in our country.  I am a huge fan of Indian and Carnatic Classical Music; I listen to jazz, folk and pop music. There is nothing specific that I hum, but my favourite happens to be anything in Indian Classical Music.

Shrenu Parikh: Music to me is freedom from worries. It's also a form of freedom of speech. Music gives me a surreal sense of peace and it's the best way to release stress. Though I like to hear all kinds of music, I enjoy romantic songs the most.

Rohit Bharadwaj: Music is an integral part of my process as an actor. It often inspires me to do some scenes differently and helps me visualise new stuff regarding scripts. Honestly, it's like some track or the other is always running in the background, whether I am swimming with daughter, fighting with my wife, playing with friends or looking out the window while travelling. I prefer Sufi music and some English classics. Punjabi alternate rock is currently ruling the music industry. For some reasons at the moment I am hooked on to ‘Ain’t any sunshine when she’s gone’.

Adaa Khan: Music is a part of my life. Everything starts and ends with music. I have set my favourite song as my alarm tone and I wake up to that every day. I sleep listening to music, so it’s like I am surrounded by music all the time.

Eijaz Khan: Music makes everything look so much better. No matter what you're going through, it makes life hopeful again. I listen to music according to my mood.

Happy World Music Day folks!
