Show Me A Hero to premiere on HBO Defined

HBO announced the India premiere date for its next prestige project ‘Show Me a Hero’, an all new HBO miniseries drama, on Monday, August 17th, at 10 p.m. exclusively 100% ad-free on HBO Premium Channel, HBO Defined.

Based on the non-fiction book by Lis Belkin of the same name, created by David Simon and directed by Paul Haggis, the six-part miniseries will explore the concepts of home, race and community while following the lives of elected officials, bureaucrats and citizens in Yonkers, N.Y.

Show Me a Hero premieres on August 17, 2015 with the first and second episodes back-to-back. The next four parts of the miniseries will air on August 24 (Episodes 3 & 4) and August 31 (Episodes 5 & 6) at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. respectively on HBO Defined, 100% ad free.

In an America, generations removed from the greatest civil rights struggles of the 1960s. The younger mayor of a mid-sized American city is faced with a federal court order that says he must build a small number of low-income housing units in the white neighborhoods of his town. His attempt to do so tears the entire city apart, paralyzes the entire municipal government and, ultimately, destroys the mayor and his political future.

Directed by Paul Haggis and written by  David Simon and journalist William F. Zorzi , Show Me A Hero stars James Belushi, Winona Ryder, Clarke Peters, Jon Bernthal, LaTanya Richardson-Jackson, Daniel Stern, Bob Balaban, Alfred Molina, Catherine Keener, Oscar Isaac, Carla Quevedo, Ilfenesh Hadera, Natalie Paul, Dominique Fishback, Terry Kinney and Michael Stahl-David.
