'Ada' set for dramatic twists and turns!

Television is slowly but steadily becoming more like its big bro. In true filmi style, the makers of Sahara One's Ada have decided to infuse dramatic elements in its tracks to draw viewership. "Well we are looking at big time twists and turns after episode 50, and we are going to have, if I might say so, drastic tracks," says show producer Ken Ghosh. So what are these twists and turns, we ask --- "I can't tell you anything about it. You have to ask the channel that," says Ken, with a laugh.
As we prod further, he tells us that as the serial moves forward, the haracters will be made to take difficult decisions. --- and make choices that might make them compromise on their morals. An innovation, Kaun Banega Soap Star, that the channel had planned in order to encourage audience participation and to make the serial popular hasn't materialised yet, but the repeated delays in the launch kept the serial in the news for quite some time at the beginning of this year. Meanwhile, the show that started off as a campus saga, revolving around acting and dancing academy has slowly, but steadily changed genres, turning itself into a youth romance. Recently, the show was in the news because of Ashiesh Roy's not so sweet departure. Immediately after calling it quits, Ashiesh went on record saying, "Deepshikha, Nirmal Pandey and I were told that the show was based on the dance academy, and we were supposed to be the three heads. But it is turning out to be a youth romance." But this does not seem to bother Deepshikha, who plays an important part in the show. "A daily cannot just deal with two people. It has to have different tracks. Love stories are part of any campus drama, and this is no different. Ashiesh's objection could be because he was seeing the show in its totality --- I just look at my role and will only be concerned if the show does not do well," says Deepshikha, who seems to have learnt that deviations in track are a part and parcel of dailies on Indian television. Something that Ashiesh has to catch up on! Agreeing with his leading lady, Ken too feels that a show has to deal with human emotions. "I have never promised that Ada will be a show based on an academy. I always said that the institute will be a backdrop to human drama, I can't make a story on buildings," says Ken. When we ask him about Ashiesh's replacement, he says, "Ashiesh played the role of a peon and I did not see any reason to replace him. It wasn't that important." Ada, with its youth based theme has exposed a new breed of audience for Sahara One --- the ambitious teen who want to make a mark in filmdom. But, to keep the momentum going, Ada has to really push the accelerator! Surely, it will be on its way in a couple of weeks!
