Ami is enjoying marital bliss and her new show

Ami Trivedi
Ami Trivedi, who is currently playing a very loud, patakha-like character in Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo got married about a month ago. TellyChakkar spoke to her on her new beginnings and her future moves. Ami met her husband four years ago. “Neeraj is not from the industry but we met each other through a common friend. It was not love at first sight from my side. But our three years almost went in convincing our parents because I am a Gujarati and he, a Marwari but then slowly they came around.” Ami’s in-laws were also sceptical before their marriage. “They are not aware about this industry. They were worried, but Neeraj managed to convince them. It was too filmi I must say that, convincing parents is not easy. In fact I feel I should write a book on my experiences,” she smiles. Ami feels she got a good break before her marriage which took place on December 10. “I had finished Jaane Kya Baat Hui. Since both the families too were ready, so we decided to get married. I too wanted a break to prepare for my wedding and as soon as everything was fixed, I got Sajan Re….” Ami is very excited about her character, that of a loud mouthed street smart woman. “It is completely opposite to what I am in real life. I am reserved and quiet whereas the character is bold and abusive. It was difficult because I am doing something like this for the first time.” Her last show Jaane Kya Baat Hui was abruptly ended. “The channel told us the show was not doing well even after changing the time slot. However I have no regrets about doing it. I am choosy about my work and then I too wanted a break for my marriage so I did not accept anything.” Has life changed for this new bride? “Neeraj’s family is very chilled out now, I am getting used to everything. I do feel responsible now,as in the morning I come on the sets and as soon as I pack up I go home and cook food. I also do some household chores. My in-laws support me, they watch my show and give me feedback too. Therefore I hardly feel that it was a love marriage!”
