MUMBAI: After successful Muslim shows such as Qubool Hai and Ishq Subhan Allah, the genre is now being explored by the newly launched Bahu Begum, a presentation by Colors.

Produced by LSD Films, Bahu Begum features Arjit Taneja as Azaan Ali Khan, Diana Khan as Shayra Anwar, Simone Singh as Begum Raziya, and Sameeksha Jaiswal as Noor. It explores strong emotions such as love and revenge, as well as the varied shades of love and friendship.  

The show was launched with many expectations and fanfare, and as it made its way to the television screens, the BARC ratings listed Bahu Begum as a bumper opener! The show received a whopping rating.

Dealing with the subject of polygamy, the show is set against the ostentatious backdrop of Bhopal and narrates the story of Noor, Azaan, and Shayra. While Azaan has always cherished his friendship with Noor, she dreams of becoming his begum.  But as destiny has it, Azaan returns home with the love of his life, Shayra.

In an audience poll, we asked readers whom do they like Azaan’s pairing best with – Noor or Shayra?

According to the poll results, Azaan looks best with Shayra. While Azaan and Shayra’s chemistry and pairing received 57 percent votes, Azaan and Noor’s received 43 percent votes.
