A page from the personal diary of Shrenu Parikh Hello everyone, this is Shrenu Parikh aka Rajnibala of Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka on Sony Entertainment Television. I have been called here today to tell you something about myself. Born and raised in Vadodara, Gujarat I did my BPharm from there itself. For me, acting is something which was not planned, but my destiny had a big role to play in the matter. It happened to be like I was forced to represent my college at a beauty pageant. Through that activity, I won the title of Miss University 2007. Later in 2008, I also won the title of Miss Vadodara. After wining these titles my modeling on a commercial base started. In 2007, when I was in my first year of graduation, I got a call to play a cameo in Balika Vadhu. As I didn’t want my studies to get affected, I opted out from the opportunity. After my graduation, I did play a cameo in Gulaal and then later my all time wish came true when I got to work with Rajan Shahi sir (Producer) in Havan. Sir has groomed me a lot in order to survive in this industry. I have been lucky throughout with the people whom I have worked with so far. Being lucky with people is more important than being lucky with the profession. During my audition for Aastha in Havan, I had to play a character of a simple girl who respects elders and is always on her toes to help people. The concept of the character was very clear in my mind and so in order to bag the role, I left a very good impression on the selectors by singing a bhajan which was unique and catchy. My first day of shoot is something which I will never forget in my life. It was on that day that I was robbed badly with my two cell phones getting picked while on the way to the sets of Havan. Even today, I do not have the inkling as to how all this happened. In that stressful mood, I had to give a shot singing the opening bhajan. Anyhow, I managed to get over the stress and gave my best on camera. Here, I want to recount of a very funny incident that happened on the sets of Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka. It was a rain sequence which we were shooting in morning around 3 am; the whole unit was in their half sleep and too stressed to handle the shoot. The shot was like my co-star Gaurav Khanna had to pick me up and we had to sit on a bed, but when we actually went to sit, the bed broke and we fell off. The whole unit burst out laughing until I was up in tears. For me, being a new actor and a learner switching on and off the character is little difficult. I always try to be in the feel of the character because missing one beat could make things go haywire. But, while doing masti, I purely involve myself in it. Right now, I am taking a chill pill because for Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka, the whole crew as well as I have done a lot of hard work and now it’s time to take some rest and spend some time with my family. I think that’s all for now, lest I be called a bore. So, this is me Rajnibala aka Shrenu Parikh taking your leave for now. I promise to meet you up very soon with some more interesting incidents. Till then, take care.
