BBC Productions that just winded up Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has started working on the second season of Desi Girl, which is to air on Imagine. The show is about city girls living in a small village where they have to do different tasks. And one of the girls will have to win over the hearts of the villagers to earn the title of Desi Girl. The first season of the show had eight girls from Mumbai who went to a small village called Sialba Majri in Punjab. Rucha Gujarati, Kashmera Shah, Monica Bedi, Sambhavna Seth, Anmol Singh, Ishhita Arun, Aushima Sawhney and Roshni Chopra participated in the first season. They had to perform tasks from milking the cows to bathing buffaloes, making dung cakes and running after hens and Roshni had won the title. The first season ran for seven weeks as it went on air in May last year but it has been delayed a little this year. A source says, “Yes, the channel is ready for the second season of the show and we have started looking out for places. The search for a new village for the girls has begun. The girls to participate on the show are yet to be finalised and most probably it should go on-air in June.” Saurabh Tewari, programming head, fiction, Imagine remained unavailable for comment.
