Despite slot change and less promotions, YHM ruled hearts: Divyanka Tripathi

Divyanka Tripathi

MUMBAI: Star Plus’ popular show Ye Hai Mohabbatein recently completed 5 years, and a celebration was organized on the sets to celebrate the milestone with loads of fun and dance.

The set was decorated, and the entire cast danced to Punjabi songs. The cast shared their experiences of and feelings about being associated with such a stellar show. Divyanka, who plays the role of Ishita Bhalla, said, ‘There have been a lot of changes in time slots and very less promotion for the show; still, the show has made a mark in the hearts of people, which is remarkable. I can't express my happiness and gratitude. A lot of people have got married during the show, and this also makes the show closer to our hearts.’

Recalling her favorite scene in the show, Divyanka said, ‘There was a scene where I was teaching Bala's daughter about good touch and bad touch. That particular scene has been very well received and appreciated, so much so that a few schools have used that clip to teach this topic to the students.’

Talking about sharing the stage with dancing legend Sudha Chandran, Divyanka said, ‘Before the dance, each and every person on the set came and wished me luck for my performance with Sudhaji, which made me all the more nervous. I was having butterflies in my stomach about dancing with a performer like her. But I think I did a fair job.’

Sudha was also all praises for Divyanka. She said, ‘Divyanka is the winner of a reality show. Thus, I too was nervous about performing with her.’ On being a part of the show, Sudha replied, ‘The cast and crew is very welcoming and warm, and that's the reason all we new entrants in the show are able to make a mark.’

The celebration was unique in every way, as the cast and crew distributed ladoos. The cast acknowledged the efforts and hard work of the crew by gifting them a beautiful plant sapling.
