MUMBAI: Sony SAB recently rolled out a brand new show titled Dharm Yodha Garud.

It is a mythological drama series that has a stellar cast.

Faisal Khan, Parul Chauhan, Angad Hasija, Toral Rasputra, Ankit Raaj, among others are seen playing pivotal roles in the series.

Garud has received a great response from the fans and everyone is looking forward to the show's fruitful journey.

Parul is playing the role of Rani Kadru in the show and is being lauded for her performance.

The actress is seen in a never-before-seen avatar and the viewers are in awe of her performance.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Parul who spoke at length about the show, her character and much more.

You are making a comeback on TV after a long time. How does it feel?

I am very happy. Because whatever I wished for, I got it. I feel proud of myself. An actor can get work easily but it is difficult to get the kind of roles he wants. I made a comeback after 3 years with this kind of a show and it is making me happy. 

What made you take up this role?

I have played a variety of characters on TV. This is a kind of a show and a role that I have never done before. The show's story is such that many know nothing about it. People are coming to know about Garud's story through this show. In fact, my mother complimented me saying that she is scared of seeing me perform on-screen. I am really enjoying playing this role. I never got any second thought before taking it up. 

After playing a variety of roles in TV shows, what kind of roles are you expecting in your future project?

After playing a lead role in Bidaai which turned out to be a huge hit, I never thought about playing a particular role. I feel that whatever roles I'll be offered and if they excite me, just like Kadru, I'll take it. I want to take up challenging characters where I have to put in a lot of effort. I am very choosy about my work and it should be very different. I have to go to a different zone while I am playing Kadru. I get headaches after giving the shot. There is a lot of pressure and also the dialogues are very difficult.

Parul has previously done shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Sapna Babul Ka - Bidaai, Rishton Se Badi Pratha, Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, among others.
