What kind of role are you playing in the show? How relatable is your character?

I’m portraying the role of Priya Sharma. Basically, we are a family of 5 women, rather 5 very strong women living together. I am the youngest one in the family. My character brings more to the table in the form of my personality. I’m intolerant towards wrong and I’m also the protector of the other four ladies. My only belief is that people won’t ever understand through words. My mind has pushed me into being a person who is definitely sweet and obedient to the elders but at the same time, she won’t ever accept anything or anyone going against them. Being the youngest, I’m everyone’s 'Laadli' but also the ‘Ladaku Vimaan’. Priya is a girl whose personality is partially similar to how I am in real life. I always stand up for my family. They are my strength, my pillars, and my only constants through thick and thin. This will definitely inspire young women to stand up for themselves and their family members. Priya portrays an intense need to take a stand for her loved ones and never be afraid of anyone or anything and I feel that’s what is going to relate to the audience the most!

Any interesting story behind bagging the show?

This show has been a blessing for me. Joining the DKP family is all a growing actor can wish for and when this dream of mine came true, I was jumping and dancing because of how happy I was. God has opened a door of success and prosperity for me. I remember the day I was supposed to audition for this role, and my dad usually helps me with recording auditions. He saw the script and said, “Give your best shot at it!” He gave me so much confidence throughout this process. The best part being, my dad was giving me feedback from the audiences’ point of view which helped me improve my audition take. We sent it across and a few days later, I got a call saying that I was shortlisted and was supposed to give a live audition. The mock shoot was next. I met Rajan Sir for the very first time and my heart was literally pounding. I was getting the heebie-jeebies! But sir was so sweet to me and made me feel like I was home. I felt like a family member from the first day itself. When I was informed that we will be shooting from February I was more delighted than I could ever be.

Tell us about your experience working with some well-known and senior-most actors in the show.

Getting to be a part of the DKP family has been an honour for me. As I said, it is quite literally my family. Being the youngest one on set, I enjoy every moment of being pampered. They all call me Chhotu and I love it. Everyone from the writers, director, hair, and makeup team is super sweet. Hiba di and Shaheer bhaiya always make me smile. We’ve bonded from the first day. Moreover, they are so chill, understanding and supportive that I never feel left out between the grown-ups. I’d call us friends first and co-actors second. Even Kinshuk bhaiya and Anuj bhaiya, all of us keep cracking jokes on set and pranking each other. I'm having the time of my life and wouldn't trade this for anything else! Even my on-screen dadi and mom are very encouraging. Sucheta ji, my mom, is extremely caring, always motivates me and tells me how well I’m performing. Nayan Ji, my dadi, she is really cool. Working with such experienced actors is great. Constantly being around someone who has been in the industry for the past 53 years, she has so much to give to us in the form of values. She supports me, gives me advice, tells me how I can improve my scene and is always there for me. I truly feel blessed.

Well said, Vaishnavi!
