I always look for performance-oriented roles - Sanket Choukse

Sanket Choukse
Young lad Sanket Choukse is now back on Zee TV after his association with the magnum opus B.K. Modi show, Buddha – Rajaon Ka Raja. He has been roped in to play an important role in the new track with respect to Rachana (Mahima Makwana) in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (Shakuntalam Telefilms). Sanket who earlier essayed the colourful role of Chintoo Dhingra in Sony TV’s Parvarrish went on to play the only friend of Buddha named Channa in the Zee TV show. Now he plays the manipulative character of Lalit in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, who happens to be the brother of the new lead Omi (Ali Hassan), brought in opposite Rachana. Talking about his role in Sapne Suhane, Sanket says, “This is a very different role when compared to my earlier ones. As you know, Chintoo in Parvarrish was a today’s man, well-dressed and charming. Channa in Buddha was the silent and down-to-earth friend of Buddha. And here, Lalit has many layers in him. His behaviour is different with every character on the show. He is supportive towards his brother Omi, and tries to do whatever he has to say. He has a soft corner for Omi’s son Lucky, as the boy does not get all the love from his father. Lalit will go on to have a funny equation with his wife. And above all, since this track has been woven with intrigue, the various hidden layers in the man will open up with time.” Sanket believes in picking up roles that are different and away from the stereotypical zone. “I want to tap the actor within me and challenge him by donning challenging characters. I always look for performance-oriented roles and I have been lucky so far in getting them.” He was recently seen playing the fundamentalist in Disney Bindass’ Yeh Hai Aashiqui wherein he was placed opposite Sumona Chakravarti. “That was indeed a challenging role. The guy was nowhere of the usual hero material; he had his own values and different approach to life. I simply loved being a part of this episodic.” Moving ahead, Sanket wants to pick up qualitative work, and be known as a versatile actor. We wish you luck, Sanket!!
