Karam Rajpal, the dashing actor of the recently launched daily Mere Angne Mein (MAM) on Star Plus, will don the role of a perfect beta and pati in the soap. It’s a hatke role from his strict army character of Nadaan Parindey. Talking about the same, he said, "It is a conscious decision on my part to try something different every time. I am lucky to have achieved this through various shows. To be honest, I never thought I would do a saas bahu show, but this is a very interesting role about a family with different ideologies. There is no over the top drama, but subtle real everyday happenings." "I am really excited to play this sorted, young man of few words. He is loving, caring very respectful towards others and although he doesn't like the patriarchy system in the house, doesn't speak against it. But yes, he loves his mother and would cross all bounds to support her," he added. Karam himself has been brought up in a nuclear family but believes in the close bond of a joint one. "My siblings and parents are my world! We are very possessive about one anther and all of us are extremely close. You won't believe that I asked for my first cheque in my mom's name! Till today, I share my account with my parents as I feel that they know what’s best for me." The actor, who started with the youth show Suvreen Guggal, further adds, "Well youth shows are hardly made on TV and I can't continue looking like a kid (laughs). Today shows like MAM have stretched the boundary of shows, catering to all age groups. It might be a family show but I am playing a character of my age, so it is a great change." Finally when we asked his love life, Karam blushed and said, "Yes, I am taken. She is my childhood sweetheart and we’ve known each other for ages. Since she is not from the industry, we aren't really comfortable talking about it." We will wait for the right time, Karam!
