I don't get worried about footage length of characters: Mohsin

Mohsin Khan

Actor Mohsin Khan, best known for his roles in shows like “Nisha Aur Uske Cousins” and “Dream Girl - Ek Ladki Deewani Si”, says he never chooses roles according to their length in the storylines and is not “worried” about getting typecast by other actors onscreen.

“I really don’t get worried about my characters’ footage length. I feel that till the time people are seeing me on screen, they should enjoy that sequence. Yes, if I won’t get to perform, then I will not like that. But that has not the case till now," Mohsin, who has entered “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” as Kartik, said while shooting for the popular TV show at the Ganga ghats here.

“I’m not at all feeling insecure about doing ‘Yeh Rishta...’. Also I’m not worried of being typecast. At the end of the day people should like your role. That matters the most to me," he added.

Mohsin said that the show is a "huge push" for his career.

“I don’t care if I will get more footage or less, if they will remember even one scene that I played, I will be a happy man,” he added.

Mohsin also said that acting was never on the cards for him.

“I never thought that I’ll become an actor. I was very good at studies. In whole Maharashtra, I topped in electronic engineering with 80 percent.

“But then during my college days I started doing ads. Later on I did cameos and parallel leads in few shows and today I’m doing this show. So I feel fortunate enough to be a part of this industry," Mohsin said.

Talking about his role in “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai”, he said: “Kartik is a very fun -loving character. It’s quite similar to the one that Ranbir Kapoor played in the film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’".

The show, which is aired on Star Plus, also features Hina Khan and Karan Mehra among others.
