I want a non-singer and a non-dancer to be the winner of IGT - RJ Mantra

RJ Mantra
The funny man RJ Mantra and Bharti Singh have replaced the Jay-Veeru jodi of Manish Paul and Cyrus Sahukar as hosts in this season of India’s Got Talent season 5 (Fremantle Media India) on Colors. And like we know, hosting a talent show with a variety this vast is definitely not an easy task. Hence we contacted Mantra to understand how he plans to entertain the audience this season. Says the anchor, “I am completely crazy about this show as I used to watch America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent as a kid. And one day while I was walking back from school I thought to myself that it would be nice if we could have such a show in India. And luckily today I am a part of it.” As a viewer what is he looking forward to in this season? “I was interested in being part of a show that was beyond just singing and dancing. I am looking at different kinds of talent as TV has its impact on young minds. I have been meeting a lot of people of late who want to be actors on TV. That’s the kind of impact it has. So for me it will be more of sports, athletics, gymnastics and more. In fact, I would also want to see a non-singer and non-dancer to be the winner.” Talking about his co-host Bharti he avers, “Bharti is a great personality. And I am glad that I get to watch ‘The Bharti Show’ behind the sets. She is a true entertainer. But one must not forget that she is quite a girl too.” Next talking about the judges he tells us, “I respect Kirronji (Kher) a lot as when I met her on the first day of shoot she came up to me and said that she likes my work. To be appreciated and recognized by someone like her meant a lot to me. She is a mother figure on the show for me. Malaika Arora Khan is the most chilled out of the three judges and Karan Johar reminds me of this mathematics teacher from school as he is strict.” Do we get to see RJ Mantra’s talent on the show? “Yes, I had told my producer that I would like to try all the tasks and that’s exactly what I did. I have tried almost everything from walking on 80 feet without harness to diving in a 12 feet deep pool in a tuxedo.” Lastly, he goes on to tell us that he is not someone who would sit quiet if he finds a talented person not getting his due. “I like voicing out my opinion if I like a performance. I have come from a small town of Indore and I know how big being on a talent show is for these people.” Keep up the good work, Mantra!
