Pretty and bubbly Helly Shah, who became a household name after essaying Swara on Colors’ much loved show Swaragini (Rashmi Sharma Telefilms), seems to be on a sabbatical phase these days…but she is not!!!

Though the lovely actress is missing on-screen, she is currently keeping herself occupied with studies. Helly is currently busy taking exams and have plans to enjoy her breaks further. In a candid conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Helly talks about her plans, last day on the sets of Swaragini and much more.

“My exams (second year college) are keeping me very busy these days. I am eating, sleeping, living books. I couldn’t get much time for my studies when I was shooting and now when I have it after completing my shoot, I am focusing on my exams. I will visit my home in Ahmedabad to spend some time with my family. I haven’t had a trip with my family since a long time so I am also planning a holiday with them.”

So, how long is your break going to be? She replies, “Nothing happens as per your plans but I would like to have a break for three-four months to be fresh before I take up a new character because I have been playing the role of Swara for two years and I was very much attached to the role. I will soon be going for a makeover once I visit my home so that the audience can feel something new in me post Swaragini and I would probably take up a show which will begin by March or April.”

We also ask Helly to share her feelings on the last day of shoot at the sets of Swaragini. “I felt very bad on the last day of the shoot. I am very sensitive and emotional and I can’t control my emotions. I can cry in front of everyone and I think I was the only one who cried so much. People generally hide their emotions but I can’t and thus, I ended up crying so much. Everybody cried because we were all very attached to one another and the show was close to everyone’s heart. I was feeling very bad for few days to wake up in the morning and then realizing that I don’t have to go for the shoot but these days I have a different pressure on my head so that’s keeping me engaged.”

Post Khushiyon Ki Gullak Aashi, Swaragini made Helly a household name and she got a lot of recognition as Swara. No wonder, Swaragini has been a turning point for Helly’s career and even she feels the same. She adds, “Obviously, it’s been a turning point for my career. I have received immense love from the audience after being a part of this serial. Doing a show for Colors and with Rashmi Ma’m has been really lucky for everyone and I feel blessed to be a part of this show. It has given me a lot of recognition and I am satisfied and happy to get all that I wanted.”

Having portrayed the character of Swara on the show, we wonder what are the roles that she is looking forward to take up now, and if there is any ongoing character on TV that she would have loved to play. She shares: “I would like to take up something that I have not done earlier. I have got to do a lot with Swara that had many shades. I want to do something new with different emotions and something that would be more challenging. Whatever I will do, should be something different and exciting. I would love to play an abnormal character on-screen and I would be happy if I get to do something like that.”

“I would have loved to play the character of Maya (played by Jennifer Winget) from Beyhadh; I am in love with the role. It’s such a beautiful character. Since I am at home, I watch the show daily and I like it. I even watch Ishqbaaaz and like Anika’s (played by Surbhi Chandana) character from the show.”

Last but not the least; she has a message for her fans. “I would like to wish my fans a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Just keep loving and supporting me. Miss me but don’t miss me too much as I will be back soon.”

Good luck, Helly.
