MUMBAI: 1Thirteen years later, the makers of Balika Vadhu are returning with the second season of the show. 

Back in 2008, the show garnered a lot of attention from the viewers because the story revolved around the concept of evils of child marriage. The story initially focused on Anandi and Jagdish's child marriage and later shed light on how their lives turned around when they turned older.

After seeing the promo of Balika Vadhu 2, it seems the show is going to be all about the evils of child marriage. Ahead of Balika Vadhu 2's premiere, let us take a look at what the star cast of season 1 is doing now:

Avika Gor

Avika Gor was just an 11-year-old when she made her small screen debut with Balika Vadhu. The actress played the younger version of Anandi in the show. Today, she is all grown-up and has featured in a lot of films. The actress, who turned 24 today, announced many movies today. She will be seen in movies like Net, Amaran and Production No 1. That being said, Avika is in a happy relationship with Milind Chandwani.

Avinash Mukherjee

Avinash Mukherjee essayed the role of young Jagdish in Balika Vadhu. Like Avika, the actor was 11 when he essayed the character. They were paired opposite each other in the show. As of today, Avinash is doing well on the small screen. He is currently seen in Sasural Simar Ka 2 in a lead role.

Shashank Vyas

Shashank Vyas had essayed the role of grown-up Jagdish Singh in the show. At present, he seems to have taken a break from TV shows. The actor was last seen as a lead in Roop - Mard Ka Naya Swaroop.

Toral Rasputra

After Pratyusha Banerjee quit the show, Toral Rasputra played the role of grown-up Anandi. The actress is presently seen in Amar Upadhyay-Priyal Mahajan starrer TV show Molkki. 

Sidharth Shukla

Sidharth Shukla, the handsome hunk of Indian TV, played Shivraj Alok Shekhar. The actor is now riding high on the success of his first digital show, Broken But Beautiful 3. After Balika Vadhu, the actor was seen in Dil Se Dil Tak and had even won Bigg Boss 13.

Anup Soni and Smita Bansal

Anup Soni and Smita Bansal played parents to Avinash's character Jagdish in the show. While Anup played Bhairav Singh, Smita essayed the role of Sumitra Singh. As of now, Anup Soni has ventured into the web platforms. The actor has been a part of OTT shows like Tandav, The Test Case and more.
