Jeet Jayenge Hum to end abruptly, Pyaar Ka Bandhan and Sukh By Chance too to feel the heat

It was part of Sony’s revamp. New shows like Jeet Jayenge Hum, and Baytaab Dil Ki Tamanna Hai and Pyaar Ka Bandhan were launched with a hope to climb up the GEC ladder. But it seems like they didn’t work for the channel as viewers thumbed down most of their shows. Where Baytaab was pulled off last month due to its weak performance, producer Benaifer Kohli tried every possible formula to taste success with Jeet Jayenge Hum, which included changing the male-leads for as many as three times (Naman Shaw, Pawan Shankar to Rahuol Lohani but things fell flat. And now we hear that the show is all set to go off-air anytime soon. Apparently, the channel is planning to vacate its 8 to 9:30 pm slot. This time Indian Idol will be a daily and might fill in for the two shows along with Swastik Pictures’ upcoming show Maan Rahe Tera Pitah. A source informs, “The show didn’t air last evening and we have been informed that the show is going off-air. The channel will air the episodes that have already been shot so far. One is wondering why the unit hasn’t been informed in advance if a decision was already taken. Why wait till the last hour to announce it to the production unit and actors? It is also buzzed that the channel is pulling off its three fictions including Sukh By Chance to make way for Indian Idol. And that Maan Rahe Tera Pitah will slip into the slot of Bandhan.” Confirming the news, Sana Sheikh who plays Suman in Jeet says, “Yes, the show is going off-air and yesterday was the last day of our shoot. I have no news beyond this.” Kohli says, “The channel has taken the decision yesterday and they are apparently planning to pull off three fictions thus making way for their forthcoming reality show. We were informed that our show was picking up but since they already have a reality show to fill in, they had to pull off the three fiction shows. The show will conclude by April end.” Protagonist Ketkie J of Sukh by Chance says, “We are yet to be informed by the channel if at all our show is ending. But our show was always supposed to last for six months as the story will conclude logically within that time. Even if we are going to be pulled off it will be only in the beginning of May. Producer JD Majethia however rubbished the rumour and said, “Sukh By Chance isn’t ending in April. We are already working on the story which will run till May end.” Karan Sharma, who stars in Pyaar Ka Bandhan too refuted the buzz and said, “Pyaar Ka Bandhan isn’t going off-air anytime soon as we have got an extension which is likely to run till August.” We tried contacting Sharma’s co-actor Kritika Kamra but she remained unavailable. Danish Khan, Marketing Head Sony Entertainment Television, said, “I won’t be able to comment on it as I am occupied. I will be able to speak on this on Monday.” Both Jeet Jayenge Hum and Pyaar Ka Bandhan were shifted from their original time-slots of 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm to 8:30 pm and 8:00 pm respectively.
