Karan Wahi completes a decade in showbiz

Karan Wahi

Hordes of film aspirants pour into Mumbai daily with the sole dream of making it big in the world of entertainment. Only those with strong survival instincts live on to tell a tale while the rest fade away without much trace. Karan Wahi certainly falls in the former lot having completed 10 successful years in the maximum city. Not only has Karan carved a niche for himself in the glamour industry but is today a name to reckon with in the telly world.

Circa 2004. An 18-year old Karan bagged the lead role in one of Star One’s programs named Remix. Still in his teens, Karan’s striking good looks did bring his character Ranveer into prominence as he effortlessly broke into the hearts of his audience which not surprisingly consisted of a sizeable number of females. Starting young gave Karan a definite edge over his other contemporaries who were well in their 20s. Unfortunately, he couldn’t keep the momentum going and vanished for a good five years before resurfacing in 2009 with Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari where he essayed the lead role of Rajveer.

Since then there has been no looking back for this good looking hunk. More soaps followed on television and so did reality shows. From being a contestant on Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa to hosting the uber popular Nach Baliye 5, Karan proved his mettle as a spontaneous anchor as well. This opened doors into the world of anchoring and Karan dived headlong taking up an assignment with Indian Idol Junior. When Nach Baliye 6 returned, the makers chose to repeat Karan as their emcee yet again and the actor made sure not to disappoint those who had reposed faith in him for the second time.

No actor’s considers his tinsel town journey complete without making a foray into Bollywood. Having accumulated enough experience of television and reality shows, the only thing now missing from Karan’s CV was films. Browse YouTube and it will list out audition videos of Karan Wahi delivering dialogues a la SRK. Those videos sufficed to show Karan’s passion for films and his ardent eagerness in leaving a mark in B-town as well.

Luckily, in his 10th year in Mumbai, after multiple trials and tribulations, that one wish came true for Karan for signing him up for a movie was none other than India’s biggest film production house, YRF. The good-looking hunk, who is now 29, will soon be seen making his debut in Habib Faisal directed Daawat-E-Ishq which stars Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. Though Karan’s been holding his cards close to his chest and has remained mum about the project, sources say that the debutant actor will be seen in a crucial role in the movie.

Though Karan may not have exactly hit the bull’s eye yet, his struggle and continued persistence at having gone through the grind for 10 years to make a name and fame for himself in this ruthless place called ‘Entertainment industry’ does deserve a special applause. The actor took to Twitter to thank all those who stood by him for these 10 years.

Here’s wishing Karan lots of success in the years to come in Bollywood.
