Madhuri Dixit inspired me to become an actor - Mahira 'Humsafar' Khan

Mahira Khan is not just a pretty face but also a brilliant actor. The talented actor created a sensation in Pakistan with her award winning performance as Khirad in Humsafar will soon be launched on Zindagi. Did you know Mahira would not have become an actress if it wasn’t for Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit. Mahira, who grew up watching Bollywood movies told us that she decided to become an actress after watching Madhu Dixit on screen. “I became an actor only because of Madhuri Dixit. I was watching Ram Lakhan and her song ‘Bada Dukh Dina O Ramji’started playing. The moment I saw it, I told my mother, ‘I want to do it, I want to be on TV’. I used to always dance on Madhuri’s songs.” Says Mahira. The actor feels that Madhuri Dixit’s sizzling performance and her breath-taking dance moves encouraged her to take up acting as a profession. It did not occur to Mahira that she should become an actor until she witnessed the magic created by Madhuri onscreen. Mahira was spell bound by the brilliant performance and screen presence of the Indian beauty – Madhuri, who has won several hearts through her million dollar smile and graceful dance moves. A huge Bollywood fan, Mahira expressed her desire to work with the likes of Imtiaz Ali and Vishal Bhardwaj.
