Sana Makbul spoke about her bond with late actor Manmeet Grewal.

MUMBAI: Television show Aadat Se Majboor’s actor Manmeet Grewal has committed suicide. The news literally left everyone in a state of shock; he is survived by his wife. Actress Sana Makbul who too spoke about being in a state of shock, spoke about her bond with the late actor. The two had worked together in the show Aadat Se Majboor, where actress Sana was seen in the protagonist role aired on SAB TV.

According to reports in Times of India, she had mentioned about still being unable to process this news. The two shared a good rapport and she addressed him as Paaji. The actress also revealed how the late actor despite of the show getting over, kept in touch with her and always guided her. Manmeet used to also recommend her name for the projects. The actress said, “I received the news of his death, yesterday afternoon. It has not sunk in, yet. I had a very good equation with him. I used to call him paaji and he took care of me like his own sister.”

“He would get gurudwara ka halwa for us. Usually, people move on and get busy with their lives once a show gets over, but he always kept in touch. He used to call me often and give me feedback about my shows. He always kept me updated about upcoming projects and pitched my name wherever he could. He was a fun-loving and helpful person,” she added further.

Also remembering one of the instances she shared of how the late actor once had gone to nearest Gurudwara to get her kada Prasad, as she was fond of it.

Sana said, “I love the kada prasad that you get in gurudwaras. I would always pester him for it. One day, I gave him an ultimatum to get it for me anyhow, as it was some festival. So, he left for the nearest gurudwara, made the prasad and got it for all of us. I can’t forget those memories. He was a selfless guy.”

She mentioned in her conversation of being upset with people who did not come forward to help his wife who was screaming and crying.

“The incident is upsetting and saddening. But what’s even more upsetting is people’s apathy. When his wife was screaming for help as she held him by his legs, no one came to her rescue or cut the dupatta that he had used to hang himself. Apparently, people were scared that they would get coronavirus and hence, didn’t touch him. I don’t know if it’s true, but I read somewhere that he was still alive when his wife was crying for help. He would have been with us if someone had cut the dupatta,” she concluded.
