MUMBAI: Television actor Pearl V Puri was arrested on Friday night for allegedly raping a minor girl. A leading media house exclusively confirmed the news about the actor’s arrest. 

Pearl was arrested and held in custody at Vasai’s Waliv police station. The actor was later taken to court where he was not granted bail. He was sent to judicial custody. 

Amidst all this, several celebrities from the television industry have come forward and extended support to the actor, since the early hours. 

Now, Erica Fernandes and Shaheer Sheikh have also shown support on social media. Taking to their respective Instagram stories, actors Erica Fernandes and Shaheer Sheikh extend support to actor Pearl V Puri after his arrest in the alleged rape case.

The Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi stars made posts on social media to show support. Shaheer shared the post made by producer Ekta Kapoor and wrote in the caption: “Stay strong brother Justice will prevail”. He tagged Pearl V Puri in the post. 

Erica, on the other hand, shared a throwback group picture that also included Pearl. The actress shared the photo and wrote a caption extending her support. She hid the other faces in the photo with the caption, “As much as I know him, I can’t even think of him doing something like that.”. The actress added, “This accusation came to me as a complete shocker.”.

Erica finally said she stands in solidarity with the actor. She wrote, “#IStandWithPearl”.

Meanwhile, Erica and Shaheer were not the first ones to extend support to Pearl. Anita Hassanandani, Karishma Tanna, Hina Khan, Arjun Bijlani, Aly Goni, and several others showed support to the actor. Producer Ekta Kapoor also penned a long post and extended support.
