Over the years, we have seen many television couples turning into a unit by tying the knot. However, rumours and their final divorce announcements end up leaving fans sad. There have been many television celeb couples who called it quits after being married for years.

While once considered ‘IT’ couple Riddhi Dogra and Raqesh Bapat ended their marriage in 2019, Jennifer Winget and Karan Singh Grover got divorced in 2014 after just 2 years of their wedding. Here, we bring to you, a list of 6 popular television couples whose divorce shocked us all.

1. Riddhi Dogra and Raqesh Bapat

Once head over heels in love with one another, Riddhi and Rakesh got married in 2011 but parted ways in 2019. There was no washing of dirty linen in public but an official statement from the estranged couple that confirmed their divorce.

An excerpt from the same could be read, “Yes, we are living separately. This decision has been taken with mutual respect and care for each other and our families. We are two best friends who may not be a couple anymore. But our friendship will continue as it always has, through thick and thin.” The best part is, Riddhi and Raqesh still continue to be the best of buddies and are often attending social gatherings together.

Television’s most favourite Kumkum, Juhi Parmar filed for a divorce against then-husband Sachin Shroff after 8 years of their marriage. The reasons were primarily speculated to be around compatibility issues. The duo was married from 2009 to 2018 and has a daughter named Samaira. Through various open letters in 2018, Juhi had opened up about her divorce and many speculations attached to it.

An excerpt on one of her open letters could be read, “By calling our marriage a one-sided relationship you have not only crushed and negated all the efforts that I put into our marriage but also insulted me publicly and assassinated my character.”.

Jennifer met Karan on the sets of Dill Mill Gayye and played each other’s love interests on the show. Their reel love soon upgraded to a real one and the duo ended up tying the knot in 2012. Rashami and Nandish met on the sets of superhit TV show Uttaran and fell in love. The two went on to get married in 2012 and parted ways after 4 years of marriage. A lot was said and done during the duo’s separation and Rashami had also spoken about allegedly facing domestic violence in her marriage. The stars got divorced in 2016. Of late, they share a cordial relationship.

This has to be one of television’s most controversial relationships. Dimpy won over Rahul’s heart in his swayamvar titled Rahul Dulhaniya le Jayenge. They got married on the same show in 2010 but got divorced in 2015 after a lot of mudslinging in public.

In a throwback interview with Mumbai Mirror, Dimpy had alleged that Rahul had allegedly “punched, kicked and dragged her by her hair.” While Dimpy is now happily married to husband Rohit Roy and settled in Dubai with her two daughters, Rahul married Natalya Ilina in 2018.

Although they didn't play each other's love interests in the superhit show Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, the sets of the show played Cupid for Vahbiz and Vivian. After dating for a brief period, the telly couple got married in 2013. However, 4 years later, the duo went for a divorce and there were several discussions around Vahbiz asking for Rs 2 crore alimony from Vivian. In 2019, Vahbiz, in a long note posted on social media, answered every single question about her divorce, alimony and other such issues.
