First of all…we would like wish each and every reader of Tellychakkar.com Eid Mubarak. As we all know… Eid marks the end of the month of fasting by devout Muslims all over the world. But there are several non-Muslims who also keep rozas. One such person is TV actress Neetu Wadhwa (last seen in Laagi Tujhse Lagan). This Sardarni kudi has been regularly keeping rozas since the last four years. “I sincerely believe that all religions are one and teach the same values,” said Neetu to Tellychakkar.com. After a particular incident, that is too personal to be mentioned here, Neetu made up her mind to keep this month-long fast. So how do you manage to avoid touching even a morsel of food or drop of water for so many hours? “I guess if you have devotion, everything falls into place. I actually feel very energetic during the period of no intake of food. I know of many rozakars who try to sleep out the fasting hours as they can’t stand the hunger pangs. But this is not right. During this period, one should work normally as this fight is against yourself and not anybody else. Similarly I have also seen many people who get very edgy during the fasting season; your prayers won’t be accepted by God if you hurt someone else’s feelings.” Apart from the Ramzan period, Neetu also fasts for both the versions of Navratri and other festivals as well. “For, I believe that fasting gives you the strength to fight your own weaknesses.” What do your parents feel about your roza fastings? “Well, mom knows about it but not dad. I want to tell dad about this, but can’t do it via the phone as this requires a face-to-face conversation which I soon hope to do.” Which food stuff do you love to gorge during iftari (after fasting is over)? “I just love the kebabs and malpuas of Mohammed Ali Road.” Talking about religion, Neetu shared, “It is sad that we spread hatred in the name of God. I just hope that this Ramzan and Eid spread the message of universal love and brotherhood.” Inshallah!!!
