Peninsula Pictures to make a ‘detective series’ for Colors

Makers of Vishkanya are presently working on a unique finite concept for Colors
producers Alind Srivastava and Nissar Parvez

Channel Colors has been on a roll in the last year as it has marched ahead in the number game, courtesy its fabulously packaged programming in the daily as well as weekly slots.

The broadcaster will further spread its wings with new programming strategies in the New Year to strengthen its dominance and hold.

Shashi Sumeet Productions’ family saga Dil Se Dil Tak, Balaji Telefilms’ Chandrakantha and the singing reality show of Optimystix, The Rising Star are already on the anvil of launch.

We now hear of Peninsula Pictures, helmed by Alind Srivastava and Nissar Parvez, working on a finite series based on action and thrill to strengthen the weekend slot.

Titled Devaanand, the show will be a detective series which will be shot on a large budget.

As per sources, “Devaanand will in all probability replace Naagin 2. However, the show is slated to be in a very nascent stage now.”

We buzzed Producers Nissar and Alind, but could not reach out to them.

We also connected with the channel spokesperson, but could not gather more information on the development.

As we know, Peninsula Pictures has submitted its pilot on a fantasy series, The King’s Daughters (on Star Plus) and awaits the channel decision as of now. Vishkanya on Zee TV was the production’s first show.

Here’s wishing the new show all the luck in the New Year!!
