Here we come again, to give you yet another exclusive on the Sony TV upcoming historical, Bajirao Mastani. The much-anticipated show is being produced by Sphere Origins and Invictus T Mediaworks.

Yes, that’s about the veteran actor Raza Murad making his way into the show!!

OMG!! That’s an interesting casting, right!!

Wait on, as you will be surprised and overwhelmed when we say that the seasoned performer who has over 200 Bollywood movies to his credit, is all set to play the fourth generation of a historical King, and this comes after he has emphatically played the other three generations earlier in his career.

And the prized role that we are talking of is that of Aurangzeb.

For the uninitiated, Raza Murad has earlier played the role of Akbar in a TV show Shubh Din Aayo based on Tansen’s life, and then followed it up by playing Jahangir in the Sanjay Khan movie 1857, only to go on to portray the character of Shahjahan in Colors’ historical, Chatrapathi Shivaji. And now the senior actor is all set to don the role of Aurangzeb in Sony TV’s Bajirao Mastani

Incidentally, Murad was also part of the iconic Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie, Bajirao Mastani. His last stint on TV was the dynamic character of RK’s father in Colors’ Madhubala.

When contacted, Raza Murad confirmed the news to Tellychakkar.com saying, “Yes, I am doing Bajirao Mastani. I play the role of Aurangzeb.”

We tried buzzing Producer Sunjoy Wadhwa for a comment, but could not get through to him.

We also reached out to the channel spokesperson, but received no revert till the time we filed the story.

As our loyal readers would know, we have been constantly reporting about the illustrious cast on board Bajirao Mastani. Actors Anuja Sathe, Manish Wadhwa, Mrunal Kulkarni, Sanjay Batra, Rudra Soni, Nawab Shah will play integral roles in the magnum opus.
