MUMBAI: It seems Navjot Singh Sidhu will soon be returning to The Kapil Sharma Show as the celebrity judge.
After his remarks on Pulwama Terror attack, Sidhu had to make an exit from the show, and the channel brought on board Archana Puran Singh. His statement did not go down well with people and soon there was a trend to boycott Kapil Sharma's comedy show on Twitter. Sony TV responded promptly by sacking Sidhu.
Sidhu had said, “For a 'handful of people', can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished."
However, going by latest media reports, it seems the contract between the makers and Sidhu was never terminated. Reports also mentioned that the channel and Salman Khan, producer of the show, are waiting for the matter to calm down. Once the situation is under control Sidhu will be brought back.
A source said to a leading daily, "When this entire controversy happened; the channel was still not sure on what decision to make. It was the producer of the show, Salman Khan’s immediate decision to ask Sidhu to step down from the show. Obviously, as a producer, Salman did not want to take a chance. The show is doing well and Salman doesn’t want to lose it just for the sake of one person."
According to further reports, Archana has only been signed for 20 episodes.
