Sheen Das on Indiawaali Maa: Daily soaps have their own essence

MUMBAI: Indiawaali Maa on Sony TV seems to hit it off with all the right chords and while the name of the show speaks for itself, there is no denying that it also assures a sense of subtlety with quality content. It features Suchita Trivedi, Nitesh Pandey, Sheen Das, and Akshay Mhatre in the leading roles while narrating the story of all the motherly instincts that there could possibly be.

Sheen Das narrates an interesting tale about how she wanted to do the show when she first heard about it. She says, ''8-9 months ago, I was speaking to Akshay and he told me about the concept of the show and that is when I told him that I wish I could be a part of the show where you do anything, you come back to your parents, see all the sacrifices they have come. I am glad that I could be a part of such a show and it is beautiful. Unlike all daily soaps, this touches your heart. In a way, this show is a tribute to all the mothers and I hope some people connect to the show and have a realization about what happens when you ignore your mother or those things.''

On the constant battle between OTT content versus daily soaps, the actress says, ''Daily soaps are going on and they will, we also thought something similar about newspapers when social media came in. While the audiences are diverted to that side because with an increasing number of platforms, the audiences will be divided. However, I think however you say, the kind of love and relatability that people feel with TV characters, they don't have the same with web series since daily soaps have their own essence.''
