We are talking about the leggy lass Shireen Mirza. The actor will be seen playing a double role in the show playing the role of Shikandi and Amba. Playing the double role has been a challenging yet fructifying experience for the actor. Shares the girl, “It was a different experience and I simply enjoyed working on the same. To be honest, I wasn’t really aware of mythological background of the characters and thus did not know that I had to play both a male and female character (Shikandi was a man, an avatar of Amba).” “When I was asked to sign the contract I got cold feet thinking about the outcome. As a woman I did not want to get judged or typecast, but when I discussed the same with my theatre guru, they told me that it would be an honour as an actor to play the role. That’s when I agreed and I must say for the good,” smiles the pretty actor. Shireen further reveales, “I first shot for Shikandi’s part which was seriously a tough deal. Apart from the language issue one faces in such shows, I had to enact a lot of action sequences. Added to that, the costume and heavy weapons just weighed me down. Thankfully the Amba scenes were wrapped up quite easily and my director was really impressed by my work.” Talking about her show the beauty says, “It has surely been a long wait for all of us to see the show on TV. I am actually excited and anxiously waiting for my episode to air. The show is quite a different one from what is there on TV and will surely bring a fresh of breath air.” So gear up to see Shireen in a completely different avatar!!
