MUMBAI: In what comes as a huge shock to the TV industry, senior actor Kavi Kumar Azaad passed away this morning. Kavi suffered from a massive cardiac arrest. He played the lovable character of Dr Hathi in SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
The show’s producer Asit Modi confirmed the news: ‘He was an amazing actor and a very positive person. He truly loved the show and always came for the shoot even if he was ill. He called today morning saying that he was not well and would not be able to come for the shoot. And later, we got the news that he passed away. We are all too numb to say anything.’
