MUMBAI:  Indian television shows have been a part of the audience's daily lives for a long time now. Over time, the type and platform of content changed a lot but people still wish to go back to television dramas and call it their comfort zone.

But a show not only runs with the leads but there are also other relationships involved too.  As the year ends, here is a list of the top 5 father in laws of television from this year:

Hasmujh from Anupamaa

Hasmukh urf Bapuji has been the epitome of support as a father-in-law. He has always supported Anupama and encouraged her all along. His son Vanraj wronged Anupama so badly and multiple times, everyone but Baouji and Samar left Anupama’s side. Even when Anupama wishes to move ahead in her career, he was there and when she was at crossroads about Anuj, it was Bapuji who made her realize her feelings for Anuj. He has been an amazing father-in-law and everyone deserves one like him. 

Rudra from Imlie

After the leap, Atharva’s father, Rudra is the father-in-law of Imlie. It has not been that long since Imlie got married into the Rana family and even though Atharva was not supportive of it, Rudra always supported and praised Imlie. The whole family keeps taunting her but he believes in her and defends her every time. Imlie has never met her father and now having a father-in-law like Rudra makes her feel that she just found her father. 

Vanraj from Anupamaa

Vanraj has no doubt done a lot of things wrong and hurt almost everyone but never her daughter-in-law, Kinjal. He has always been there for her and whenever he felt that after Anupama left the Shah house, Kinjal missed her, he was there to make her feel better. When Toshu cheated on Kinjal, Vanraj was there to support Kinjal and did not leave her side even for his own son.

Rajvardhan from Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet

Rajvardhan has always been encouraging and supportive of Meet Hooda. Even when there has been a conflict between Meet Hooda and Meet Ahlawat, Rajvardhan has supported Meet Hooda. He never fails to make Meet Hooda feel alone and is always there for her. He does not support her blindly, he even corrects her when she needs to be but never leaves her side. 

Ninad from Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin

Ninad has always been in favor of Sai, his daughter-in-law. No matter what, he was there for her and in her support. No matter what, he did not leave her side. Even after Sai leaves and Pakhi comes into Virat’s life, Ninad did not speak ill of Sai ever and it is not as if he spoke badly about Pakhi but made sure to never stop talking and supporting Sai even in her absence.
