Shows have come and gone but Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Star Plus and Director’s Kut) has stood the test of time.

Marred with controversies and sour developments of late, with the lead Hina Khan allegedly creating trouble, the drama completing 2200 episodes definitely comes as a morale booster.

To commemorate the occasion, the cast and crew came together earlier in the day and celebrated in a traditional style (on the set at Filmcity) with a havan followed by scrumptious Rajasthani lunch, which was loved by all.

“Yeh Rishta has a strong loyal audience. The core plot of inter-relationships remains the same, but we have evolved in story telling with passing time, managing to entertain viewers. Our characters have been loved and in time to come one will see strong family bonding and also romance of Akshara and Naitik,” says an ebullient Rajan speaking to Tellychakkar.com.

So who or what does he attribute Yeh Rishta’s success to? “I would say the entire team. We have been working hard and the there has always been positivity on the set. Yeh Rishta is all about bonding and relationships and we would like to explore it more. 2200 is a great achievement but we are hungry for more.”
