MUMBAI: Young Bollywood star Bhumi Pednekar has recorded another big feat with her hit film Bhakshak and she is over the moon! Bhumi’s film is amongst the top 4 most watched content on Netflix with the first three being huge theatrical hits by megastars like Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal & Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki! Bhumi is the only Bollywood actress in the Top 4 most viewed content on the global streaming platform! 

Bhakshak director Pulkit revealed this on his social media through a post.

When contacted to comment on this, Bhumi says, “Bhakshak is a film that has won the hearts of audience in India and globally for months now and I’m extremely proud about this feat. To be right up there among the best content of the year that people have watched on streaming is truly an humbling moment for me as an actor.”

She says, “The list of the most watched content on Netflix has towering theatrical blockbusters helmed by mega superstars. For me, to find a place amongst them with this gem of a film is an extremely special honour for me personally, as well as for my director Pulkit and the entire team of Bhakshak including the Redchillies Team! I can’t thank everyone enough for trusting the film and for trusting in me.”

Bhumi is basking in unanimous appreciation and love that has been showered upon her for her stellar performance in Bhakshak. With 12th fail becoming the big sleeper hit for the industry theatrically and Bhakshak becoming a global hit on streaming, content films are again the toast of town! 

Bhumi says, “Bhakshak has become a film that has sparked a conversation which is why the engagement on this film has been huge and also sustained. To have clocked these incredible numbers is testament to the fact that it has truly touched people’s hearts.”

She adds, “I love it when my film becomes a hit theatrically or on streaming. For me personally, the true test of a content working is in it actually becoming a hit. So, it’s amazing to have another hit under my belt again because it always pushes me to do better on screen.”

Bhumi is now considered one of the best actors of the Indian film industry, given her incredible body of work.
