1962: The War in The Hills Review: A must-watch Untold story of Bravery!

Premiered on Disney+Hotstar web series 1962: The War in The Hills is a must watch but has its low points too, here is the full review

MUMBAI: Dealing with the subject of patriotism, Disney+Hotstar is back with an amazing show, which throws light on the 1962 war between India and China and also the inner life of the Induna Soldiers beyond the battlefield, the series titled, 1962: The War in The Hills will make you go through all this thing, the series has some amazing talents like, Abhay Deol, Mahie Gill, Sumeet Vyas, and others, and is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.

The story of this 10 episodic series, deals with the life of the Indian soldiers on the battlefield in the era of 1962 where it is India vs China on Borderers, and how the soldiers are going through their tough time to win this war and safeguard our national borders, Major Suraj Singh played by Abhay Deol and his C company will never look behind in the process of making India proud.

The screenplay of the series is decent, the series takes a good start but in between looks a little stretched, also the storytelling of the series is good and will keep you hooked and booked, the direction by Mahesh Manjrekar is the USP of the show, the location covered in the show are treated to eyes and covered very well.

Talking about the Performances, Abhay Deol is the key performer of the show, the actor is seen in never seen before avatar and will surely win your hearts also 2nd name after Abhay Deol will be Sumeet Vyas followed by Akash Thosar, Meiyang Chang, Mahie Gill, Anup Soni who has given their best piece of work in the series.

The positive point of the series can be the layers of the story, there is a huge story going on which deals with the war situation in the series but part from under big story there are few smalls stories dealing with the life of the soldiers and their families, also the strong performances by every character will surely keep your attention high, also the direction by Mahesh Manjrekar is the USP and the location covered in the show are treated to watch. Also, the emotions of Indian Soldiers which are captured in the series are the USP of the show.

Where there are positives points, there are few negative points too in the series, the screenplay is well written but in between the series looked dragged and slow because the family parts of the soldiers after a point looks little unwanted and at few points, it adds no value to overall series, also the scenes during the war, the gun fires and blasts were looking evidently graphically designed which kills your war sequence viewing experience.

Well, having said all these points the series will surely treat you with high points at several points and it does justice to the real unsung heroes of our country, the Indian Army.

Team TellyChakkar goes with 3.5 stars for 1962: The War in The Hills.
