MUMBAI: Asim Riaz, known for his fiery temper and headline-making reality TV presence, is once again at the centre of controversy this time on the set of the fitness-based reality series Battleground.
The Bigg Boss 13 finalist, who has often found himself in hot water due to his confrontational nature, is reportedly facing expulsion following a major bust-up with co-participants Rubina Dilaik and Abhishek Malhan, popularly known as Fukra Insaan.
Clips and footage of Asim repeatedly clashing with fellow judges and participants have been circulating widely on social media, triggering intense discussion online. In several of these viral videos, the model-turned-actor is seen losing his temper and engaging in heated arguments, with fans divided over his behaviour.
According to ongoing reports, the latest altercation erupted during a recent shoot, which quickly spiralled out of control. As per sources, what began as a minor disagreement escalated when Asim allegedly insulted Rubina Dilaik, declaring she was unfit for the show as it revolved around fitness. Post that the judges of the show called off the shoot and went back to their vanity van.
It is being said that following this outburst, the production team asked Asim to leave the show. While there’s no official confirmation yet, speculation is rife that he has been ousted from Battleground altogether. Discussions are reportedly ongoing between his team and the show’s producers in an attempt to resolve the situation.
This isn’t the first time Asim’s temper has cost him dearly. His volatile stint in Bigg Boss 13 saw frequent confrontations, to the point where host Salman Khan had to step in and issue stern warnings. More recently, he was reportedly removed from Khatron Ke Khiladi after displaying aggressive behaviour towards host Rohit Shetty.
Tensions on Battleground had already been simmering before the most recent incident. A viral clip showed Asim accusing Abhishek Malhan of hiding his surname, suggesting that his success was merely due to his username.
In response, Abhishek fired back with a scathing comment, referencing Asim’s past clashes: “To make my name, I didn’t pick a fight with the host and get thrown off a show.”
With tempers flaring and egos clashing, it remains unclear whether Asim will be welcomed back or if this marks his permanent exit from Battleground.
For now, fans await an official statement, but one thing is certain the drama surrounding Asim Riaz is far from over.
