MUMBAI: Barun Sobti is on a roll. This year, we have already seen him in three OTT series Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke, Asur 2, and Badtameez Dil. Now, he is gearing up for his fourth OTT series Kohrra.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Barun and spoke to him about the series, his character in the show, and more...
What made you say yes to the series?
First when I was called I got very surprised that they wanted me to play this part because I thought it was a great part (smile). I also really wanted to work with Sudip (Sharma) because I like his filmography. I read the script and all those things happened, but there was prejudice; I had already made up my mind that I will definitely do this.

The title Kohrra is very unique and uncommon. So, what are your thoughts on the context of the title?
Kohrra is not just the physical aspect of the area, it’s about the clouded perceptions and judgements of the very close relationships that we are in. So, yes Kohrra is about that.
Tell us something about your character in the series.
My character name is Amarpal Garundi. I am playing an Assistant Sub-Inspector, a cop. He is at a very precarious spot in his life. It’s a very crucial time for him in respect to his career, the opportunities he has, his family, and the kind of relationship he wants in life. So, it’s very complex I think.
Kohrra will premiere on Netflix on 14th July 2023.
