MUMBAI: Rithvik Dhanjani is one of the most popular actors on the small screen. 

The talented actor became a household name for his role Arjun Kirloskar in Zee TV's show Pavitra Rishta. 

The actor was paired opposite Asha Negi in the show and their on-screen jodi became a huge hit among the fans.  He is also popularly known for his role in Star One's show Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani.

Popular TV actor Rithvik Dhanjani will be seen hosting 'Datebaazi', an online dating show. Created by Frames, the series is set to premiere on December 1 exclusively on Amazon mini tv for free.

The dating show will see parents taking over their kid's dating applications and making rational decisions. Joining Rithvik will be celeb guests like Shilpa Shetty, Bharti Singh, and Uorfi Javed.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about his new gig as a host, dating shows, and more.

What was your reaction when you first heard about the concept of Datebaazi?

My reaction was like damn, I can never be that situation , where mt parents are siting and choosing for me, because the idea of the show is such that we meet the parents and the singles and then separate them, and the parents are doing all the selecting, the swiping and the singles in the other room have no control overand the parents don’t know that the parents are watching that and they can’t talk to the parents as well, so even if they like someone and their parents left swipe on them, its done, and the parents have a certain reaction to the profiles on the site and they think that their child does not do this and all and then I go and ask the child and they tell me the truth, and its very funny to watch.

What is that one quality that you would’nt want in a partner?

I think dishonesty is big thing. They shoul’dnt lie about anything, like not even white lies and just being who they are truly. White lies are okay, just the teeny tiny ones but not lies. I think dishonesty in a relationship ruins everything.

What makes you say yes to a project, whether it be hosting or an acting project?

I don’t overthink it, i I don’t put a lot of brain behind it, I think from heart because when I started my career, I started like that, where I only did what my heart wanted and the size of the project did’nt matter, whether it be big or small, just whatever felt right and felt according to my gut and the fact that I should have fun doing it. The question does rise about if I am going to enjoy doing what I do  and if the answer is yes, I will do it. And that’s what I try to follow, and ofcourse there alot of pros and cons now that I have been in the industry for so long, but I still not to get any filter in and ask myself if I see myself doing that project and then I say yes.
