MUMBAI:  Siddharth Shaw has been a part of OTT series like Paatal Lok, Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach, and more. The actor was recently seen in the series Do Gubbare which started streaming on Jio Cinema a few days ago.

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Siddharth and spoke to him about the response he is getting for the show, how was his experience of working with veteran actor like Mohan Agashe, and more...

What response are you getting for Do Gubbare?

So far so good! I am really happy that we are getting positive responses from the critics, and my Instagram is flooded with random people texting me and showering me with their love. So, it’s all new to me and I am overwhelmed with the feeling and I don’t know how to take it all in. But, it’s really nice.

How was your experience of working with a veteran actor like Mohan Agashe and were you nervous while sharing screen space with him?

Of course! In fact what my age is (24); he has double experience than that. He has seen the transition of filmmaking. Today, we shot digitally, but he has seen the real reel era. The biggest challenge and task was how to be in front of the camera and not look like a fool standing next to him. But, if you see, in the starting of the show, my character Rohit is supposed to be nervous like he is coming into a new space and he is coming out of his comfort zone, something which is very new to him. So, it’s just been amazing. One day I was just talking to him and I told him I am nervous, so he said ‘go ahead and play with that nervousness because a sense of nervousness is also important in performance as well’.

Did you ever face a transition in real life like you have in the show?

Yes, I was born in Lucknow then I was raised in Delhi initially, after which I went to a boarding school in Ajmer. So, that was the first time I was stepping out of my comfort zone, and I was just 11 years old when I went to the boarding. Then I went to Delhi and did my college. After that pandemic hit us and then I shifted to Mumbai. When I shifted to Mumbai, it was school all over again because I was accustomed to staying at home for four years. It was like I had completely forgotten how it is to be by yourself. So, it was all new to me. It’s been a nice journey yet there has been a lot of learning.
