MUMBAI: The second season of Raj and DK’s The Family Man has crashed all the records and flipped the tables with its huge success. It is often recorded that if the first season is a blockbuster the second one usually fails to reach the benchmark. But The Family Man 2 has set another benchmark higher than the first one.

In an exclusive chat with us, Sharib Hashmi aka JK shares how elated he feels post the success, “I shall be forever grateful to Raj and DK for this opportunity that turned into a major hit. The whole cast had worked really hard for the show and its success came out as a shock. All of us were sceptical due to the history of sequels being a flop but we turned the tables for our show and the love we have received is unexplainable.” 

While continuing the conversation we asked Sharib about that one quality he likes about JK, he indeed had an amazing answer to it, “JK and I are 50-50 when it comes to similarities or differences, it is the director’s and casting director’s vision that creates an enticing character, I still remember my audition for the role when they told me ‘you are perfect, you don’t need to do much work on the character’ and I went by the script. JK has this one strong quality of being ‘Yaaron Ka Yaar’ which I would love to imbibe in Sharib as well.”

Talking about friends, Sharib reveals his tight pact with Sunny Hinduja, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Arritro Rudraneil Banerjee, and Shahab Ali. He says that ‘whenever we are all in Mumbai we make it a point to at least see each other twice a week. They have turned into a family.’
