The actor has seen a lot of ups and downs in his life and with a lot of hardwork and dedication he has reached this far.

He started out way back in Laughter Challenge where he emerged as the winner of the show and then took part in Comedy Circus and there also he was the winner of the show.

Then he started his solo show "Comedy Nights With Kapil" which became a huge success and he became a global star.

Then the show went off- air and Kapil ventured into movies and his debut movie Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon was a huge hit and was loved by the audience.

He also did movies like Zwigato, Firangi, and recently Crew, among others..

1. The actor changed his surname from Punj to Sharma as he felt that his original surname won't suit his personality.

2.His father Jeetendra Punj was a head constable in the Punjab Police.

3. He lost his father in 2004 as he was diagnosed with cancer in 1997.

4. He was rejected in the audition round of the show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge when he auditioned in Amritsar. He was selected in the Delhi auditions and eventually won the show.

5. His first love and passion is singing and he became an ace comedian to support his family at a very young age.

6. He was the winner of "Comedy Circus" almost for six seasons that aired on Sony Television and also won "The Great Indian Laughter Challenge" Season 1 that aired on Star one.

7. Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni way back has participated in a reality show titled "Hans Baliye"

8. Before getting married to Ginni, he dated her for almost 12 - 15 years since his college days.

9.  The money that he won from the show "The Great Indian Laughter Challenge" he spent it on his sister's wedding.

10. He hosted various shows such as Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 6, Chhote Miyanand Ustaadon Ka Ustaad.
